I went and saw Angels and Demons over the weekend. It has been a while since I read the book, but I thought that I recalled the premise of the story fairly well, but after the first twenty minutes, I vowed to go and get another copy to read it again.

It’s not that I think a lot was changed from Dan Brown’s novel, but I distinctly remember that there was a lot of discussion about following the rose line, which there was no mention of in the movie. That aside, the story had a good flow, with many elements that I did remember from the book, such as following the angels, and the strong ties to the Illuminati mythos.

Tom Hanks reprised the role he played in the DaVinci Code, as symbologist Robert Langdon, who is once again drawn into a faced paced story of murder and mayhem, this time trying to save the lives of four Cardinals likely to become Pope during the conclave following the death of the current Pope.  Once again Dan Brown pulls together a strong story by weaving together myth and science, and Ron Howard weave together a cast and crew to make an intricate story come to life on the big screen.

I give this movie four stars – If you like the action genre you will like this one.
